You can have an informal meeting in the treehouse or play the piano during your lunch break!THE ROLEThe Consumer Payments team is looking for someone to help build our new Commercial Operations team. You will be supporting our financial control and budget processes as well as commercial relationships we have with our providers. Reporting to the Commercial Operations Manager, you'll work with over 20 partners globally to power our customers' payments needs across our different departments and geographies.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Help to build a new Commercial Operations team within the Fintech Ops organisation – with the goal of ensuring we have in place strong commercial and financial control frameworks.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities through analysis of commercial terms we hold with payment providers, our payment flows & configurations.
  • Support the development of robust financial control procedures covering all relevant Fintech Ops activities such as payment processing fees, chargebacks, software costs and reconciliation. Ensure impacts to our P&L are identified, measured and communicated.
  • Support the build and implementation to BAU of a quality assurance framework around financial controls and cash flows. Proactively identify, communicate and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate closely with Fintech Ops Analytics, Operations Strategy and Finance teams to ensure cost and financial control processes are implemented and aligned with those of our stakeholders.
  • Help develop our strategy for managing and scaling our commercial conditions with our 20+ payment service providers. Contribute to negotiations with prospective and existing providers.
  • Work with teams like Product, Legal, Finance Ops, IT Security and Treasury to bring new initiatives, and to create efficient workflows for money coming into our business.
  • Help to build and maintain strong relationships with our industry partners to ensure we're well-positioned to handle the opportunities and threats that change may bring to our cost base, particularly in the card scheme area.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experienced (2+ years) in financial services, consumer payments or another relevant discipline.
  • High degree of financial knowledge, able to evidence ability to manage complex budgetary and financial cost control processes.
  • You feel comfortable working with large volumes of data, and make decisions informed by data.
  • You thrive when given a challenge that includes self-led discovery and the autonomy to create your own solutions.
  • You enjoy making complex things seem simple and building better ways of working.
  • You enjoy working with different kinds of people and different teams.
  • Mastery of tools and methods for calculating and controlling costs;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Excel and SQL, BigQuery/Data studio as a plus;
