Your mission

As an Intern NLP Engineer at deepset, you will work on making neural search scalable and accessible for enterprises all around the world. You will be part of the Core Engineering Team, working on Haystack, our Open Source NLP framework, and interacting with its vibrant community.

Your impact

• As a full-fledged member of the team, you will join our meetings, will take part in the sprint planning and retrospective, will have regular 1:1s with the Team Lead
• You will manage Github issues, taking ownership of the process from triaging to resolution
• You will be part of the Community Guide rotation, helping out Haystack users through different media: Github discussions, our public Slack group, Stack Overflow
• You will have the chance to collaborate with the rest of the team on complex tasks, such as designing new components or delivering new features
• You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other departments and get insights from different parts of deepset

Your profile

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Machine Learning, Software Engineering, or a comparable study

• You are available for a 40 hours/week internship for the period of 6 months

  E.g.: you have recently completed your studies (bachelors or masters), or you are in the last semester of your course and have already completed your exams

• You have experience with the Python programming language
• You are an Open Source enthusiast, you already contributed to an OSS project, willing to improve your software engineering skills
• You are familiar with NLP and you are highly motivated to learn about it
• Do you have previous intern/working experience? That`s a big plus ;)
