Job Description

We’re looking for an engaged and highly organised person to join our Completions team. We’re enabling great businesses to succeed through equity crowdfunding and as a Completions Paralegal at Crowdcube, you will be part of a company's funding journey by managing all matters relating to the completion of Crowdcube fundraising rounds and post-funding support. This role can be based in our Exeter office in the UK, or in our Paris or Barcelona offices in Europe. Fluency in both French and English is an essential requirement for this position.

What you will be doing:

Within the Completion Operations team, you will have responsibility for matters relating to the completion of Crowdcube fundraising rounds and post-funding support, including but not limited to:

  • Management of post-completion relationship with responsibility for:
    • End-to-end management of completion and submission of tax relief applications

    • Completion of filings

    • Responding to Zendesk queries for post-completion, legal and tax relief and items

    • Re-issuing replacement tax certificates for non-electronic certificates

  • Review of legal document translations in French and English - other language capability is highly desirable

  • Overall administrative support to the Funded Community with responsibility for:
    • Drafting and co-ordinating investor updates in relation to failed businesses;

    • Assisting with the completion of pre-emption and private rounds, including draft board minutes and other ancillary documents;

    • Preparing investor updates in relation to various corporate actions of funded businesses;

    • Monitoring and reviewing updates for funded businesses and reporting to the relevant team members;

    • Coordinating and assisting with the signing of legal documents, including via DocuSign

Ideally you will have:

  • Previous experience in either administration or legal secretarial work in France and/or other European countries.

  • Paralegal experience would be highly desirable.

  • A high attention to detail, be extremely organised with the ability to prioritise your own workload and manage your own time.

  • Excellent skills in administration work.

  • Proven knowledge of MS Office and/or Google Apps for work.

  • Prior experience of working in a financial services or regulated environment (highly desirable).

  • Fluency in both French and English to mother tongue standard (mandatory)

Our interview process typically consists of an initial phone screen, an interview with the hiring manager and a task, followed by a final interview with other members of the team. There aren't any trick questions and the task will typically be based on a real scenario the team have worked on.
