Who We Are

Cobalt

was founded on the belief that pentesting can be better. Our pentests start in as little as 24 hours and integrate with modern development cycles thanks to the powerful combination of a SaaS platform coupled with an exclusive community of testers known as the Cobalt Core. Accepting just 5% of applicants, the Core boasts over 400 closely vetted and highly skilled testers who jointly conduct thousands of tests each year.

Our award-winning, fully remote team is committed to helping agile businesses remediate risk quickly and innovate securely. Today, over 1,000 customers use Cobalt to run pentests on demand via Pentest as a Service, AKA PtaaS, a space which Cobalt pioneered (you could even say we wrote the book on it) and continues to lead.

Description

All organizations need security testing for their software and we are building the world’s largest and smartest pentest management platform to help solve this challenge at scale.

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer who is excited to join our growth team focused on accelerating customer acquisition and helping us to increase retention. This team is heavily focused on experimentation and iteration. As the lead designer for this team, you will lead all aspects of design from inception to implementation and beyond, owning design throughout the end-to-end product development cycle and partnering closely with product and engineering every step of the way.

What You'll Do

  • Use your strong communication and negotiation skills to advocate for design with partners in marketing, product management, and engineering through the whole product lifecycle.
  • Partner closely with our Design Systems team to create scalable design frameworks and solutions.
  • Let users lead the way and let their needs guide you to the best solutions that also support our business objectives.
  • Balance switch between strategy-level and pixel-level critique.

You Have

  • Have high attention to detail, and the ability to independently balance tasks, while prioritizing projects in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Be a self-starter with excellent time management, and who can thrive in ambiguity.
  • Have a team-first mentality.
  • Prior experience formulating hypotheses and validating them through the experimentation cycle.
  • Solid understanding of business and product metrics, as well as data to inform decision-making.
  • Strategic and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience aligning stakeholders while producing solutions that solve users' needs advised by business objectives and technical capabilities.
  • A deep understanding of the end-to-end product design process. Including how to develop and use IA, journey mapping, prototyping, user stories, user research, wireframing, and visual design.
  • The ability to solve ambiguous and complex problems with simple, elegant, user-focused solutions.
  • Experience applying both quantitative and qualitative research techniques to inform design decisions.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills - you can present your design decisions and process succinctly.
  • Provide mentorship and design feedback to other design team members.
  • Experience designing for consumer-facing UX.
  • Experience working in an agile environment as well as familiarity with Lean UX and utilizing design research.
  • Expertise in design tools, i.e., Figma, Miro

Bonus If You Have
