Job Description
Are you passionate about tackling climate change and shaping the future of environmental law and policy? ClientEarth’s Tokyo Office is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated intern to join our Energy Systems, Asia team, focusing on Japan’s decarbonization and climate leadership.

What you’ll be doing:
- Conducting research on climate change policies and regulations in Japan, particularly those related to corporate, financial, and high-emission sectors.
- Preparing case summaries on climate and environmental litigation in Japan.
- Translating and reviewing documents between Japanese and English.
- Attending meetings, seminars, and events
- Supporting projects, including those involving other Asian jurisdictions.
What we’re Looking For:
- A background in law, political science, environmental science, or business
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills in Japanese and English (CEFR C1+).
- Passion for sustainability, climate justice, and energy transition.
- Positive attitude and alignment with ClientEarth’s values of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
