It's such an exciting time to join Chordata

Chordata is positioned as the future of animal health in response to challenges faced by farmers, pet owners and vets. We are passionate about animal health and our goal is to create an integrated health microchip for companion animals and livestock.

We are creating the first integrated health microchip for livestock and companion animals with daily, real time data and animal-specific health alerts for farmers, vets and pet owners. Real time access to crucial information will help early detection of disease,  reduce monitoring costs, enable telemedicine and improve animal wellbeing worldwide.

We’re at an exciting stage of our journey having secured seed funding with a clear pathway to Series A investment mapped out over the next year. Our hardware proof of concept is complete and prototyping is underway, our market ready product is scheduled for launch in 2023.

The role:

Reporting to the CEO initially,

We are seeking ambitious sales ‘game changers‘ to help us grow our client base and revenue across multiple markets. You will be a current top performer, ready to take the next step in your career and join a scale up pioneering its field. You will join us ready to apply your impressive commercial skills to achieve business and personal success. You will have a deeply inquisitive mind, a well-honed consultative approach to selling and an unquenchable thirst for success to sell our innovative proposition.

How you will contribute: -

  • Qualify strategic selling opportunities, target markets and clients
  • Develop and maintain a strong revenue pipeline by proactively driving new opportunities as well as managing key client relationships
  • Personally develop, own and execute an ambitious client acquisition plan
  • Develop, manage and constantly improve on your lead generation through proactive networking at digital and face-to-face channels and events
  • Take ownership of your category and clients as if it was your own business by constantly improving on conversion
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting through to developing long term relationships
  • Prepare regular sales reports including activity, pipeline, sales invoiced as well as monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts
  • Frequent travel across your territory

Responsibilities: -

  • Help identify commercial partners in the livestock or pet sectors
  • Develop strategy for initial approach
  • Develop pitch materials
  • Assist the CEO with pitches
  • Help develop collaborative partnership
  • Work through each opportunity to agree terms and revenue goals
  • Manage detailed implementation of the plan working with Chordata product, marketing and client teams
  • Be responsible for ongoing client service working alongside key account managers
  • Be responsible for overall revenue forecasting and delivery for nominated partners

What we want:

  • Proven expertise in strategic planning and commercialisation of a disruptive product
  • Experienced in relationship management at min VP level
  • Track record in revenue generation/ pitch and negotiation of contracts and partner agreements
  • 8 years + in supplier or client side bus dev in either the livestock or pet sectors
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills essential
  • Preferred location UK but Australia / US considered. Languages not required
  • Initially reporting to CEO but a commercial director post will be filled in ‘23/24
