Why this job matters

As UK Secure Team Manager, you'll provide team oversight and line management for a team of UK Secure Delivery & Implementation Engineers. You'll ensuring the strategic direction of UK Secure Delivery & BT Business Managed Services is followed and promoted as the correct working practice.

You'll be supporting technical engineering activities for delivery engineers & ensuring the right security and technical protocols are followed so that delivery quality for all our activities are at the right level. Finally you'll be completing delivery, changes & installs (when time allows) to ensure a hands on approach to understanding processes and work.

What you’ll be doing

1. Line management of the UK Secure Delivery Implementation Engineers, including holding regular performance reviews & coaching, ensuring technical skills and professionalism of the team are at the appropriate levels and utilised as such. Along with ensuring current resource are optimally leveraged to get the most from their time
2. Ensure quality of work delivered by teams is at the required level, including ensuring delivery engineers are following correct processes & Delivery Engineers are strictly adhering to all security rules / guidelines for the jobs / contracts on which they are working
3. Assisting with responses / input into New Product Launch requests, Bid Support requests, Production Planning models inc. capacity planning and escalated resource requests. Also ensuring our delivery teams concerns regarding tools/processes etc. are supported/flagged/escalated accordingly
4. Support/deal with any escalations arising from any deliveries undertaken by our teams. Including attending Customer meetings when / where required to provide strategic guidance, oversight, outline procedures or pull in appropriate resource/support to ensure the smooth running of projects if management intervention is felt to be necessary by either the customer or BT
5. Have necessary technical skills & understanding to do ad-hoc deliveries when required for whatever reason

What we would like to see on your CV

1. Have excellent people management skills to convey/discuss topics across all relevant areas, also the ability to take in different requirements from stakeholders and negotiate mutually agreeable outcomes with pragmatism
2. In depth technical knowledge to understand the various networking products we deliver, the procedures involved and regular issues faced, along with high level understanding of managed IT infrastructure. A professional Technical Qualification or equivalent experience in the WAN/LAN areas that we operate.
3. You've operated in IT systems and applications relevant to the role, proficient in manipulating and presenting data for different audiences (strong in O365 inc. Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint)
4. Have a professional and pragmatic approach to work, ensuring availability when needed, a strong focus on achieving goals, taking ownership and driving results. Proactively manage own time and workload, highlighting and any issues or concerns back through the delivery team or senior management team
5. The successful candidate must be willing to undergo Government Security Clearance to SC level, which requires residence in the UK for a minimum of 5 years

This role offers a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.
