To support our ambitious plans to engage with many more people affected by blood cancer, we are looking for a creative junior designer to join our brand and creative team.

Working in a small design team you will have an opportunity to be involved in projects across the organisation and help promote and grow our brand and support our fundraising activity.

You will design creative content that will increase awareness and engagement to help us beat blood cancer soon.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the brand and creative team, you’ll be working in a small design team that will give you an opportunity to be fully involved in projects across the organisation and help contribute to the continual development of our brand and visual identity.

You’ll report to the Brand and Creative Manager and will work closely with our comms team. As part of the wider Marketing and Communication division, together we will deliver creative solutions that are appropriate for our audiences and critical to our success. In an increasingly competitive market, we need to ensure we stand out and come across as meaningful and engaging to everyone we communicate with.

We need a talented individual with an eagerness to learn and develop to help us deliver outstanding creative solutions that are sector leading and that will help us in both supporting our fundraising teams and reaching more people affected by blood cancer.

Our team offers design services to all teams within the organisation, so you’ll need to be confident in delivering a diverse range of projects such as artworking a highly detailed patient information booklet, creating inspiring concepts for a new fundraising initiative, or fast turn-around of assets for digital channels. You’ll need good communication skills to liaise and build relationships with staff at all levels, external partners and suppliers.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

· Support the Design Team and the Brand and Creative Manager on a wide range of projects.

· Design and prepare production marketing materials, publications and promotional items.

· Design elements for digital platforms, such as banners, adverts and e-campaigns.

· Help develop new concepts to raise brand awareness and support our fundraising objectives.

· Account handle some projects from scoping through to final sign off, liaising effectively with stake holders and other team members.

· Act as a brand guardian always ensuring the integrity of our brand identity.

· Contribute to the ongoing development of our brand identity.

· Share knowledge, specialist expertise and experience with the organisation.

· Liaise with printers and external suppliers.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with your team and the wider organisation through a positive and proactive approach.

· Have an active interest in graphic design and a knowledge of current trends.

• We’re all fundraisers. This is slightly different for all roles, and your team will have fundraising KPIs and objectives we all work to

• Attend and assist at Blood Cancer UK events and activities as required (NB this involves evening and weekend work)

• Be an effective ambassador for Blood Cancer UK at any activity you attend

• All staff are expected to adhere to Blood Cancer UK’s policies and procedures

• Do any other reasonable things your manager needs you to do
