Job Description:
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be developing and operating the integrated technical management aspects of Tornado systems engineering projects & programmes including strategy, planning, developing the management system, risk, assumptions, management by maturity, decision management. Reporting the status of each project to the line manager, Supporting the transition of the business to meet future requirements.
Core duties:
- Performing Engineering Integration activities such as authoring management plans, coordinating technical reviews, capturing design decisions, managing critical features and engineering risks and opportunities
- Technically vetting SDU and supplier solutions for applicability to RSAF Tornado
- Ensuring high quality and timely artefacts are delivered in line with programme requirements
- Leading engineering planning, management and review activities
- Supporting the development of Engineering priorities to ensure overall programme aims are achieved
- Developing strong relationships with other team members & external stakeholders such as Ministry of Defence
- Supporting maturity assessments of the developed solutions to ensure they are appropriate for each of engineering lifecycle phases
Essential Skills:
- A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience working on aircraft systems
- Significant experience of Support activities through the complete lifecycle
- Good understanding and application of a quality approach to engineering
- Knowledge of engineering processes, standards and governance within highly regulated industries
The RSAF Tornado Systems Engineering team:
This is an exciting role within the RSAF (Royal Saudi Air Force) Tornado Systems Engineering team situated in the UK. The RSAF Tornado remains fully operational and Systems Engineering delivery/repair and recovery programmes remain one of the corner stones that will underpin the platforms operational capability to the RSAF Tornado Out of Service Date.
