Job Title: Senior Buyer (Plant and Equipment)

Salary: £45,000 + depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

• Owning, influencing, and liaising with key stakeholders to determine their requirements
• Creating procurement strategies and contracting routes
• Leading the process to prepare and issue pre-qualification & RFP documents
• Developing assessment criteria to select the successful bid
• Conducting tender reviews with multiple functions to determine the most suitable supplier
• Preparing contract documents
• Identifying and delivering savings actively

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

• Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing procurement strategies
• Strong contract skills, including negotiation, management, and agreement of terms and conditions
• Expertise in supplier management to ensure optimal performance and relationships

Desirable:

• Project experience in Plant & Equipment/Construction projects
• MCIPS qualified

The Infrastructure Category team:

The role will provide you with fantastic opportunity to support project delivery, primarily within the Air Sector, covering all platforms, manufacturing areas and sites. You will also be at the forefront of supporting business winning campaigns and new manufacturing/technology initiatives providing a great insight into BAE Systems Air Sector as a whole. You will get the chance to support the large scale projects such as FCAS, and the sustainment activities of Typhoon. Within this role you will work alongside a range of stakeholders at different levels giving you exposure to the wider business. We will also support you in gaining additional qualifications to allow you to progress your career in the future.
