Job title: Procurement Leader – Strategy

Location: Barrow-In-Furness

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working with the Engineering function and other key stakeholders, support the development of the business strategy for Additive Manufacture (AM) through a Supply Chain lens
  • Continuation of mapping of current capability element to support decision making around development of AM capability within the supply chain, support decisions to invest or collaborate in a specific way to improve capacity or capability of manufacturers to meet our needs
  • Support Make v Buy approach
  • Establish and strengthen links between Technology Centres, academia & our supply chain
  • Support embedding consideration of AM into programme delivery and supplier Capability and Capacity planning
  • Understand incumbent supplier’s capability and R&D plans, working closely with Supply Chain relationship leads
  • Link into Group/Sector and Submarines Enterprise from a supply chain perspective

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Commercial awareness with a background in Procurement, Project Management, Commercial or Engineering
  • Strong collaborative skills, communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Innovative and curious mind-set

Desirable

  • Familiar with technology development, new product introduction or working in an R&D environment

The Procurement Strategy Team:

Within the team you will play a key role in supporting technology development within the Submarines business and its Supply Chain. As a Procurement Leader, you will be responsible for working with the Engineering function and other key stakeholders, support the development of the business strategy for Additive Manufacture (AM) through a Supply Chain lens.

You will be confident, collaborative and autonomous whilst being able to capture and communicate opportunities across our Supply Chain.
