Job title: Principal Engineer – PLM Structural Information & Systems

Location: Scotstoun, Portsmouth, Filton, UK wide. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £ 60,000 (depending on skills and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

· Lead requirements elicitation, process definition and configuration of the Product Lifecycle Management capability

· Lead and coordinate testing and acceptance of the Product Lifecycle Management capability

· Lead the implementation, including education, of the Product Lifecycle Management capability

· Provide ongoing support to ensure the success utilisation of the PLM approach

· Execution of data management for the project through life, interfacing with stakeholders including the IM&T function

· Assist in delivery of an approach to the through life digital thread, including co-ordination of the process across the various stakeholders and toolsets (e.g. CAD to PDM to ERP)

· Major contributor to the strategic view of PLM, specifically to determine an evolution path (e.g. identifying and incorporating IT developments from elsewhere); potential need for/benefit of future upgrades; and identification and delivery of PLM solutions to emergent requirements from business

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

· Proven PLM experience in a highly complex product design/build engineering environment with CAD (Foran) and PDM (Windchill) experience in the Structural Information & Systems discipline

· Proven ability to develop and sustain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders for successful realisation of PLM objectives

· Proven ability to develop relationships to ensure successful agreement and implementation of stakeholder requirements

· Experience within ship building sector

Applicants should ideally be Degree qualified or have equivalent experience, likely to be in a technology, engineering, science or IT related discipline. Applicants should be a Chartered Engineer or hold another equivalent professional registration with a relevant institution.

The Team:

Implement and facilitate the through life Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, policy and supporting toolset. Lead the development of and the deployment and adherence to the PLM processes & controls in each lifecycle phase and enable measurement of the PLM system.

Take the lead in areas to develop and implement PLM related: processes; policies; requirements; enabling technology; and support the management of product information for the Naval Ships business. This will include leading the audit & preparation of PLM related information and developing PLM reporting solutions.

This role is important to the successful operation of the PLM Capability Centre (PLMCC) and will have knowledge of methodologies and technology for the successful implementation and use of PLM to projects to time, cost and quality across Naval Ships and wider GCS Programmes.
