Job Title: Lead Project Professional – Delivery

Salary: From £45,628 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the Project to define, enable and embed Maturity Management and Engineering Bill of Materials improvement strategies into the SSNA programme
  • Consolidate expertise from various sources, including third-party specialists, to deliver cohesive advice that supports organisational objectives (based on business requirements, continuous improvements, LFE and best industry practice)
  • Create, validate and secure endorsement for the project schedule, managing stakeholder involvement (Internal/ External to PI&I) as appropriate to ensure strategic delivery of improvements to be embedded as BAU
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks throughout the full project lifecycle to ensure customer and user needs are met while delivering financial and other key benefits
  • Support the creation and maintenance of a team plan of activities, with effective reporting of progress to the required stakeholders

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • In-depth knowledge of project management policies, processes, procedures, and systems, with proven professional experience in managing projects
  • Experience in Engineering, with an understanding and appreciation of the Engineering Bill of Materials and Lifecycle Management
  • Proven ability to manage and engage a diverse range of stakeholders, fostering collaboration and driving consensus towards shared goals
  • The capacity to identify and troubleshoot project challenges, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend solutions
  • Previous experience in coaching, mentoring or leading a small team
  • Able to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences in both formal and informal settings

Desirable:

  • APM PMQ, Prince 2 or relevant experience in Project Management
  • Engineering qualification or relevant experience
  • Experience in the Design and or Build phase (Dreadnought, Astute, SRP etc.)
  • Experience working in an Operational Excellence environment

The SSNA Programme & Infrastructure Design Environment team:

As a Lead Project Professional within a dynamic team of 6-7, you will support the SSNA Programme by defining, enabling and embedding improvement initiatives within the Maturity Management and Engineering Bill of Materials approach. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
