Job Description

Job Title: IT Programme Manager

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £70,000 dependent on experience with executive car allowance and bonus on top

What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of multiple concurrent IT projects from initiation to closure in accordance with established delivery methodologies
  • Develop detailed plans including scope, timelines, budgets, resourcing and risk management strategies
  • Proactively monitor progress, key performance indicators and be able to report on progress to stakeholders
  • Work in a multi discipline, multi function environment at all levels of the business and all associated parties
  • Contribute to the development of IT and programme strategies
  • Develop business cases for proposed IT investments and initiatives
  • Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and high performing environment
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including business leaders, IT staff, vendors and partners
  • Take full responsibility for the delivery of IT capabilities for the AUKUS Programme including controlling and reporting against commercial and financial aspects of the projects undertaken

Your skills and experiences:

  • You will need to have excellent stakeholder management experience recognising that this is an international programme of work spanning across multiple organisations
  • Successfully lead and manage complex IT projects in an international environment
  • Have strong team leadership, stakeholder management and effective communication experience at all levels
  • Hold a degree in Computer science, information systems or a related field
  • Have gained strong project management skills with a blend of: IT infrastructure, Operational Management, Information Systems (IT and OT), Business Architecture and Business Analysis

The AUKUS Enablement team:

By joining us in the team, you will play a key part in the early stage of the project and help to be responsible for Digital mobilisation and coordination of the UK IT activities associated with the AUKUS Programme Enablement. There is fantastic room for growth and development within the role and team. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
