Job title: Field Support – Senior Trials and Acceptance Engineer

Location: Broad Oak – Portsmouth. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Circa £ 51,000 (depending on skills and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

  • To conduct Shared Infrastructure (SI) and Command Management System (CMS) Harbour and Sea Acceptance Trials within RN and commercial dockyards
  • Plan for and co-ordinate attendance at the trials site/platform, ensuring that all documentation and test apparatus is available at the start of the event
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all CMS stakeholders within the MoD, NCSISS and BAE Systems organisations
  • Conduct SI and CMS Harbour Acceptance Trials at Customer sites
  • Provide on-going progress reports during the HAT/SAT activities, ensuring that any functional issues or potential concerns for completion are highlighted. Then formally report on the outcome of the SI/CMS trials on completion
  • Responding to functional and technical CMS queries arising from the Acceptance events, with support from colleagues or subcontractors as required

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Significant experience integrating Combat Systems and CMS and experience of Combat System Integration and conduct of successful Acceptance Trials at end user environments
  • Experience of the production, coordination and presentation of trials and acceptance documentation
  • Demonstrable experience of stakeholder management and customer reporting
  • This role requires regular travel outside of the New Malden/ Portsmouth areas and a commitment to work for short to medium length periods in Plymouth, Glasgow, Rosyth etc., as required by the various platform programmes. Potentially, occasional foreign travel may also be needed

Desirable:

  • Experience of SI/CMS Hardware, with a level of technical understanding regarding hardware aspects across the lifecycle would be useful
  • Experience in supporting investigations and resolution of system issues arising during trials

The Engineering team:

As a Field Support – Senior Trials and Acceptance Engineer you will be responsible to conduct Shared Infrastructure (SI) and Command Management System (CMS) Harbour and Sea Acceptance Trials within RN and commercial dockyards. Maintain trials documentation for use during the HAT/SAT activities. Report on the progress and outcome of HAT/SAT trials to appropriate stakeholders. Conduct additional tasking for the RECODE Field Support Team leader as and when required.

This role requires regular travel outside of the New Malden/ Portsmouth areas and a commitment to work for short to medium length periods in Plymouth, Glasgow, Rosyth etc., as required by the various platform programmes. Potentially, occasional foreign travel may also be needed.
