Job Title: Engineering Document Controller (12-month FTC)

Location: Scotstoun, Glasgow. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £34,000 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Reviewing Type 26 documentation to ensure that they have the correct security and corporate markings, and Restrictions of Use Statements in accordance with the technical content on the document to enable export to the Hunter and River Class Destroyer programmes
  • Liaising with Subject Matter Experts (SME) on any issues which are not clearly encompassed by the current process, licenses or legal agreements
  • Accepting responsibility for and demonstrates a visible commitment to SHE and Quality standard
  • Recognising the importance of the Document Controllers role to achieve target deadlines for the programmes
  • Holding a technical understanding of documentation held within the Type 26 Windchill

Your skills and experiences:

  • Strong IT Skills – proficient with Microsoft 365, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Engineering applications such as Mathcad, AutoCAD, Windchill, Visio or Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience in a similar role that involved attention to detail and proof-reading documentation
  • Clear understanding of document markings in a legal and security context

Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The Data Management Data Transfer (DMDT) team:

As a team we review, track and mark UK Official and UK Official Sensitive approved Type 26 documentation for (electronic) export to the Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) and River Class Destroyer (RCD) programmes in line with Government Security Classification, Company Marking Standards, Export Control and Legal requirements. You will continue to develop and maintain associated strategies, processes and procedures to provide support to all key business stakeholders dealing with the Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) and Canadian River Class Destroyer (CRCD) partners as required. This is a fast-paced and collaborative environment, where knowledge sharing and continuous development are encouraged to build a multi-skilled team.
