Job Description:
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a SAP Senior Project Manager to join our Financial Systems Department based in Herndon, VA.
You will be responsible for running large projects and transformation activities that support the development of Airbus in North America, including Airbus Divisions and Subsidiaries in the United States, Canada, Central and Latin America. In this role, you will lead the different initiatives related to SAP systems improvements and transformations. These can be Systems, Processes and integration standards as well as Organizational Change. You will be responsible for the different integration projects by leading the Finance in Industrial Systems and ensuring successful integration of all Systems connecting to Central Finance Systems within Airbus World.

Your Challenges:
Project Management (50%):
- Be an authority to lead high-risk & complex projects while using cross-functional resources and capabilities.
- Fully Understanding of SAP delivery models by following ASAP methodology, tools, and procedures.
- Engage with partners both internal & External and be responsible for delivery of its major elements including project business objectives, scope and solution within quality criteria, on time and budget.
- Responsible for identifying resources and providing recommendations for distributing work among employees and subcontractors in relationship to project(s).
- Review project plans and scope with the Project team to ensure that all team members understand the assigned tasks and associated delivery dates.
- Provide leadership in ensuring consistent use of the Airbus project methodology.
- Raise early issues about the projects to management and be Responsible to handle and maintain ongoing risks by evaluating medium to complex situations accurately and identify potential solutions that create positive outcomes.
- Build proactive formal and informal communication/relationship with key internal & external partners.
- Strategically partner with diverse collaborators as well as with technical staff, programming teams, technical analysts and business partners to deliver on enterprise on a multitude of projects both technical and business value in nature.
SAP operational / Support activities (35%) :
- Be an internal contact for SAP solutions for complementary teams and internal clients including but not limited to business managers, directors, and executive Staff in a professional demeanor. Responsible for strong relationships as the external contact with SAP, strategic partners and suppliers.
- Responsible for writing and producing executive reports using strong verbal, written and presentation skills / or using Key performance indicators.
- Be a focal Point for Customs Transformation in North America and liaise with the Global head of Customs transformation team on a recurring basis to ensure smooth operations and support as-needed.
- Be a focal Point for P2P Transformation initiatives in North America and liaise with the Global P2P transformation team ensuring successful collaboration across regions on support and initiatives.
- Full engagement in month end and year end closing activities for FI-CO modules and provide full support to other functions in capacity.
Expertise on complex integration activities (10%) :
- Be a Focal Point for the Change Board Governance for Finance in Industrial Systems and to ensure all Systems Changes impacting finance are well taken into consideration and no risks are associated to such changes.
- Serve as support contact for existing applications and provide expertise to any crucial change requests or improvements.
- This task requires an in-depth knowledge of SAP Finance modules and integration with the major SAP modules such as MM-PP-SD
Other tasks as requested (5%) :
Your Boarding Pass:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or related field of study.
- 8-12 years of relevant experience in financial systems/transformation
- Up to 15% domestic or international travel per year is involved
- Worked on upgrade, global rollout and support projects.
- Strong production support experience in an onsite and offshore support delivery model. Served as a SPOC for onsite production support. Responsible for Root cause analysis, after action reviews and post Implementation reviews and address the outcome.
- Handled and supported Year-end and Period-end closing activities and supported the IS/IT team and end users in implementing their tasks and reporting.
- Understanding of multiple modules and capability to do configuration and gap analysis.
- Conducted extensive training sessions for business users. Prepared training documentations and user manuals.
- Fluent in English
- Experience with SAP ERP and modules such as FI-CO-MM-PP-SD
Preferred:
- Master’s degree is highly preferred.
- SAP FI / CO certification
- PMP Certification
- Additional Languages appreciated (German, Spanish and French etc.)
