Job Description:

Airbus Helicopters is looking for an Operational Planner to join our Planning and Production Team in Columbus, MS.

In this rewarding role, you will Identify, analyze and solve recurrent technical issues not directly manageable by the operators & FLM (First Line Manager). This will help achieve optimum effort and work results through planning, production control and management of products and the design of processes.

Your working environment:

On the eastern border of Mississippi you’ll find Columbus, home to our Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and Center of Excellence for the entire North America region. It’s here that we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army in addition to the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers.

Your Challenges:

  • Release and control of production orders to the production floor by schedule via SAP.

  • Issuing parts, tracking and reporting all shortages.

  • Setting up and imputing data on Excel spreadsheets for reporting shortages and KPI’s.

  • Monitoring and processing Quality Note tasks and completing in timely manner.

  • Researching and troubleshooting production order and parts issues.

  • Coordination between all supporting departments to meet schedule.

  • Attend all assigned meetings for production status.

  • Control of work orders and material removal from aircraft for configuration changes (CRF).

  • Control of consumption of the network in SAP.

Your Boarding Pass:

  • Two (2) or more years of relative experience. Related college level studies may be substituted for experience.

  • Experience operating within an integrated manufacturing system, such as SAP.

  • MS Office skills, especially Excel

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • US Person under ITAR definition (a U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license)

Preferred Education/Skills:

  • Associate's Degree

  • Knowledge of aircraft parts and documentation

  • 5% Domestic and International

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite 95%
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Required daily.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Required daily.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Required daily.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Required daily.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Daily.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Daily.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Rarely required.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. Required daily.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Required infrequently.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. Required daily.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Approximately 5% - 10%.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Required daily.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visit, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
