In order to support Air Power Engineering Navigation Systems Germany, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Navigation & Sensor Development Engineer (d/f/m)

Your tasks and responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to understand and apply techniques of automatic control, including filtering and estimation, stability control... and ability to use info/data from sensors in control/estimation algorithms.
  • Ability to know and apply application data specific processing techniques and technologies related to Navigation Systems.
  • To identify the activities of the development life cycle that are necessary to develop a system/product and provide the level of confidence which is consistent with regulation and program requirements.
  • To define checkpoints and reviews with associated maturity expectation aligned with program phases and gates.
  • Ability to provide sufficient detailed data and information about system elements to enable the implementation consistent with architectural entities as defined in models and views of the system architecture and in accordance with the allocated requirements.


Tasks:

  • Development of Avionic System Concepts/System Design within the TORNADO Avionics System
  • Allocating requirements for TORNADO Navigation System
  • Development of Test Procedure, Certification and Verification Documents
  • Perform and/or monitor tests and perform analysis of test results
  • Release test analysis & correlation reports after test completion
  • Support Certification and Qualification process
  • Support the whole design process including design review meetings (internal, supplier and customer milestones)


Desired skills and qualifications

  • A completed university degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, or comparable discipline
  • Desirable background / knowledge: Aircraft Avionic/Navigation Systems, TORNADO, Software Test Engineering, Requirements Based Engineering
  • Analytical thinking skills, independent working style and good communication skills
  • The ability to work in an international and multidisciplinary team
  • Fluent in English and German
