The Finance NextGen Programme is an Airbus Defence & Space-wide development programme.

This programme is designed to identify and develop talented Leaders for the Airbus Finance Community who will contribute significantly towards achieving our business goals. The Finance NextGen Programme - sponsored by Airbus Defence & Space' CFO - enables its participants to enhance financial know-how and expertise, combined with further learning in management and leadership competencies.

The mission of the programme:

  • Fostering and deepening participants’ financial knowledge and expertise on the Airbus world of Finance, enlarging the scope to the international financial context
  • Linking formal learning with rotating, real-business project assignments
  • Increasing participants’ project management and leadership competencies
  • Encouraging networking, job shadowing, mobility and cross-cultural experiences
  • Mentorship from a member of the Finance Top Management


This Program consists of two assignments in two different countries. Each assignment lasts for a period of two years. They are combined with off-the-job modules, designed to strengthen participant’s management and financial competencies.

The job holder will be responsible for

  • Transversal Analysis and Reporting
  • Cost Centre (CoC) Controlling and Reporting and project administration (Master Data Maintenance, Updates, SAP Planning and Alignments with project managers, Rebookings, Shopping Carts)
  • Monthly controlling and reporting of actuals vs. plan for internal and external projects (incl. Sales, R&D and internal purchases, actuals vs. plan, EACs etc)
  • External & internal invoicing including set-up of internal contract and support of purchase order + Purchase controlling
  • Transversal Analysis and Reporting
  • Support of planning processes like S&OP, Forecast and Cost Center Budget
  • Support of special tasks (e.g. New Controlling Concepts, Data Management & Automation).
  • Accurate and transparent financial monthly reporting
  • Assess the actual financial project performance, analyze deviations and drive corrective actions for our Target Drone business and various CoC’s
  • Support during proposals generation and contract drafting process
  • Develop actionable scenarios to support decision making and provide a comprehensive view on the financial implications of project decisions.
  • Anticipate financial risks and advise on mitigation strategies.
  • Help the projects and CoC responsible navigate through and adhere to finance processes and to finance compliance requirements.
  • Explain and raise business awareness on finance matters


We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Master’s degree or similar in the domain Finance and International Accounting
  • First experience in the area of industrial project Controlling in an international context
  • Very good skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Google suite.
  • Good understanding of financial internal control standards
  • Capacity to work with multiple stakeholders with different cultural backgrounds
  • English: fluent / negotiation level, additional languages such as French, German, or Spanish are a plus
