Job Description:

​The Contracts Director will be part of a small, global and highly specialized contracts team within Satair. The main focus of this position will be on the business of Satair Chengdu and the position will support Satair Chengdu contracts related to products and services in close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders. In addition, the position is aimed to support the regular activity of the Satair contracts team by supporting any contract-related activity with Satair customers in China.

The position can be located in Beijing or Chengdu and requires the ability to travel for work, mainly within China and exceptionally also internationally. The responsibilities include:

  • Build, draft, negotiate, approve and manage contracts with a strong focus on Satair Chengdu (any upstream and downstream contracts, e.g. aircraft acquisition, teardown, repair, consignment, sales and any other product-related contracts) and any commercial downstream contracts for Satair Beijing and for the rest of the Satair organisation (Red and Blue channel) in compliance with our processes and policies and while minimizing our risks
  • Manage contract lifecycle, from the internal validation and archiving to the implementation and follow-up, as e.g. amendments, renewal and termination, as well as disputes
  • Harmonize the contracting experience of our customers across sites and entities (Airbus vs Satair vs VAS)
  • Support the Satair contracts team in managing commercial policies of Satair and Airbus Services
  • Assist internal stakeholders in Satair Chengdu/Beijing, VAS, the rest of the Satair organisation (acting on behalf of Satair entities for distribution business and acting on behalf of Airbus for Airbus parts) and Airbus (Customer Support Directors, Supplier Management etc) by providing guidance and ensuring compliance on contractual topics
  • Support Airbus Aircraft Sales and Services Campaigns by providing negotiation guidance on material-related topics and balancing risk and opportunities
  • Drive the digitalization of general contracts lifecycle management within Satair

We are looking for:

  • At least 3 years of experience in an international commercial contracting environment, or another relevant role
  • At least 2 years of experience in drafting and/or negotiating commercial contracts in English or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of Chinese law with regards to commercial contracts.
  • Preferably a degree in Law, Business, Finance, (Aerospace) Engineering or equivalent
  • Ideally a high degree of aviation business understanding
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills in English and in Mandarin
  • Customer minded with a strong intercultural understanding
  • Diplomacy, negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management
  • Able to reach agreements on a non-confrontational win-win basis
  • Team player
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to participate and contribute to transversal, international projects and company targets
  • Able to work in a self-directed, autonomous mode with minimal supervision
  • Professional level of discretion, keeping confidentiality of contractual matters
  • Solid skills in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace are a plus
