Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an ATM (Air Traffic Management) Operations and Functions Engineer (f/m) to join our End to End Mission and Function department based in Toulouse, France.

You will be part of a team developing solutions to integrate our Aircraft in the worldwide air traffic. As part of the ATM operations and datalink systems group, you will be involved in leading operational concepts, standards, cockpit operations and multi-system functions.

Your challenges:

  • Define ATM operational concepts in different Airbus projects such as SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research) and coordinate external ATM partners for these concepts definition and validation
  • Lead and manage multi-system functions related to ATM on all Airbus Aircraft and for R&T such as traffic based functions, weather based functions, communication with Air Traffic Control and Airline Operations Control Center. You will be in charge of the redaction of functional documentation (FRD/FDD) and high level definition of HMI. You will also be responsible for preparation, participation and analysis of cockpit evaluations and operational validation in particular with pilots from flight tests, customer support and airlines and also with Airbus Human factor specialists.
  • Ensure air/ground interoperability through participation in projects with external partners and/or to international standardization groups.


Your boarding pass:

  • Educated to a 5 year degree level (or equivalent) in aeronautical, system engineering, telecommunications or a related discipline
  • Knowledge and/or experience in ATM or otherwise in flight operations or system engineering is expected
  • Project Management experience will be considered
  • Language skills: Advanced level of English. French will be an additional asset for the role.


This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
