About the role

A Technical Consultant will work as part of a new growing team in Germany, assisting customers in making the best use of the Atlassian product suite, such as Jira Service Management, Jira Software, Confluence, Bitbucket, and other related productivity technologies, in order to deliver value to their business or organization. Proficient in German is a prerequisite.

This role will be helping customers to integrate systems, automate processes, and achieve efficiencies. This typically ranges from providing expert guidance and solution design, mainly around ITSM and PPM solutions to “hands-on” work with product setup and migrations.

As a Technical Consultant, the role will also take part in pre-sales - offering solutions, providing estimates, and producing proposals. The position will naturally involve maintaining and improving knowledge of the Atlassian product suite and related technologies.

What you'll be doing

Solutions Design and Delivery

  • Own the role of technical expert in how customers can get the most value out of the Atlassian toolset, including, configuration, customization, performance optimization, and best practices
  • Gather client requirements and conduct information-gathering workshops
  • Provide thought leadership to client stakeholders in solving business and/or technical problems, including identifying pros, cons, and risks of potential solutions
  • Guide customers through adopting changes to their current processes based on recommendations
  • Prepare all customer-facing deliverables, including engagement reports, systems design diagrams, runbooks, and training materials

The Consultant will be required to work with and support Business Development with their sales process and also contribute to Solution Design Documents

Qualifications

What we're looking for

  • German and english proficient

  • Experience in technical consulting, software development, or the Atlassian toolset

  • Experience presenting solutions to customers based on provided requirements

  • Experience writing and contributing to technical reports

  • Experience implementing ITSM, ITIL, Agile, and PMP methodologies

  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • An ability to think innovatively and creatively

  • Team player and strong collaboration skills

  • Self-starting, strongly ambitious, and tenacious

A few nice to haves

  • Experience with web integration using Rest APIs

  • Scripting experience with a language like Groovy or Python

  • Pre-sales experience

  • Experience with requirements gathering and analysis

  • Experience within a fast-paced, fast-growth tech start-up environment

  • Understanding of non-functional requirements for application scalability, availability, and security

  • Forge development
