Salary: £31,000 - £34,000

The foundations of the brand have been built on strong and independent editorial ethics, championing customer experience professionals and supporting them in the many challenges they face in today’s fast-changing world, through multi-channel and format content, written by a small in-house editorial team and the leading experts in the industry from around the globe.

As Editor of MyCustomer you’ll be responsible for delivering the content and audience strategy, crafted in collaboration with the managing editor and be an active multimedia content producer, with high quality onsite content creation as required by the content plan. You’ll need to interpret traffic data and wider market understanding to support strategic vision and drive data-informed audience, product and content development.

Working closely with our commercial team and clients, you’ll also provide consultative assistance concerning content strategies, supported by editorial and audience insights. There will also be opportunity for you to represent MyCustomer at awards and industry events.

Core responsibilities

  • Deliver the MyCustomer editorial vision and guide the team to deliver content that supports our wider business objectives
  • Be an active multimedia content producer with high quality onsite article creation as required by the content plan/agenda
  • Contribute to, and be a significant voice in the development of our editorial vision alongside the managing editor and other stakeholders
  • Interpret traffic data and wider market understanding to support strategic vision and drive data-informed audience, product and content development
  • Deliver the content and audience strategy in line with the brand vision
  • Feed insights, news and commercial leads to the editorial, sales and marketing teams
  • Work with the managing editor to meet, monitor and manage editorial quality and output standards. Includes onsite content, onsite moderation, email comms and social media platforms
  • Monitor and measure onsite performance of content and audience development plans in line with agreed KPIs
  • Build out a network of contributors to help deliver required content output
  • Drive a research culture across the editorial team to support commercial content marketing plans
  • Support commercial (and internal) content marketing projects at research and execution level where required.
  • Attend meetings with prospects and partners alongside the commercial team to represent and deliver the editorial perspective
  • Provide consultative assistance to prospects and partners concerning content strategies, supported by editorial and audience insights

  • Exemplary communication, collaboration, problem solving and team working skills
  • Proven people management & development experience
  • Ability to prioritise a complex, multi-faceted workload effectively to ensure the editorial team hits their regular deadlines and targets
  • Excellent knowledge of CMS and web publishing tools
  • Social media and audio-visual expertise
  • A proactive approach to customer/member service

Desirable

  • Podcasting experience
  • Video editing skills
