We work with companies to get them discovered as truly flexible places to work, by verifying them through our two-stage Flexification™ process. Our platform enables users to find out which companies offer the working environment that they want through our flexibility filters. 

We have over 400,000 users, 150+ companies, and we are just closing our latest round of funding… So, we are looking for someone to work alongside Tim, our CTO!

As our first full-time engineer you will play a key role in creating new functionality for our clients, optimising our site UX and building internal tools to help Flexa work smarter.

Our tech 🤖

The core stack you’ll be working with is React (Next.js, JavaScript/TypeScript) and a GraphQL API. Our backend tech includes Node.js, MongoDB and Apollo. We’re cloud native and use a variety of services including AWS, Vercel and MongoDB Atlas. We’re young and keep things modern, no legacy code to struggle with here.

Day-to-day tasks will include 📩

  • Building new site functionality. Writing clear, robust code to deliver new site features for our clients and visitors. We try to iterate quickly and push often so your work will always be making a difference.

  • Collaborating with our product manager and design team to identify issues and devise solutions. Use your knowledge to guide discussion and build a development approach.

  • Improve our existing platform, testing and docs – always push best practices.

The key things that we will be looking for in applicants 🔑

  • At least 4 years of frontend web development experience.

  • Strong knowledge and recent experience of React

  • Solid fundamentals with modern HTML, CSS and JavaScript

  • Experience with data-fetching and integrating with APIs.

  • Experience with agile methodologies

Some nice-to-haves ✅

  • TypeScript

  • Experience in developing REST or GraphQL APIs

  • Experience working with headless CMS tools

  • Knowledge or experience of SEO/analytics tools

  • Knowledge of any of the following libraries is a bonus: Next.js, Emotion, Material-UI, Apollo, Mongoose

  • Previously worked in a startup environment
