About the role

We’re looking for an exceptional Communications Manager to lead all B2B (Partner) PR and Communications in the UK.

Balancing strategic thinking with implementation, this Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy focused on building carwow’s brand positioning and sentiment amongst all carwow UK partners - from OEMs, to dealer groups and partners, to leasing brokers - as well as supporting our strategic Commercial objectives.

From developing and nurturing key trade media relationships, to sponsored and owned events, to our partner website and CRM, the successful candidate will be responsible for all partner communications in the UK, and will have demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with complementary functions including Brand, Performance Marketing, CRM, Consumer Product.

A proven track record in delivering business results in the automotive and/or e-commerce is preferred, yet willingness to learn fast, work collaboratively and execute is a must.

Supported by Trade and Consumer PR agencies, and working closely with the UK Country Marketing Manager, Global Head of Communications and Global Director of Marketing & Communications, the role will report into the UK New Car GM.


The role will involve:

  • Be responsible for the Carwow Partner (or B2B) Brand Positioning in the UK across target partner audiences (prospective and existing)
  • Create and execute UK Partner Comms Calendar and activities to support the commercial business objectives through integrated communications channels including press and media relations, owned and sponsored events, CRM, partner website.
  • Be the day-to-day contact for external PR agencies, overseeing campaign delivery, reporting and ROI.
  • Partnering with Head of Comms and Country Marketing Manager, own the B2B element of the UK calendar of ‘brand messaging’ to form Partner Storytelling calendar in order to achieve UK commercial & strategic goals - manage campaigns across all consumer and partner touchpoints.
  • Be able to think creatively, tactically and strategically
  • Deliver key communications copy including press releases, thought leadership articles, Q&A and messaging and internal or partner communications.
  • Build direct relationships with key trade journalists, broadcast planners and industry experts / commentators and deliver on-message media coverage.
  • Be a trusted advisor on potential reputational challenges and crisis management.
  • Responsible for consistency and quality of messaging across all external facing channels.
  • With agency and Global Director of Marketing & Communications, develop media plans and partner with internal teams (editorial, growth, commercial, OEM) to deliver these.
  • Closely partner on strategy and execution with Growth marketing, Partner Operations and Commercial teams


About you

You will need:

  • Experience and proven track record delivering Comms & Marketing results in a fast-paced environment, ideally in the automotive and/or tech industries
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communications skills are a must
  • Exceptional organisation skills and proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work independently and to drive projects cross-functionally
  • The ability to use the Google suite and social platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and content platforms such as wordpress
  • Existing relevant trade media relationships and ability to build relationships and trust with new sectors of the press
