Truelayer are building the next generation payment solutions with the goal of providing a high converting, low cost, delightful experience for our clients (like Revolut, Freetrade and Cazoo) and their end users. By leveraging a new wave of regulation built on openness and innovation, we have quickly become a global leader in the open banking payments space and have the lofty ambitions of wanting to become the automatic payment method of choice for our clients and their consumers.

The Open Banking Expansion team is responsible for taking TrueLayer products global. We’re rapidly scaling our coverage in Europe and discovering new countries beyond Europe. Once we launch a country, we identify new use-cases, understand customer needs and work with the platform teams to tailor our products for maximum impact in each market.

Who we are:

Businesses use our global network, built on open banking and PSD2, to securely access financial data and enable instant payments. Headquartered in London with offices in Milan, Dublin, Sydney, and Hong Kong, we’ve raised $142M to date and we’re trusted by some of the biggest names in tech, including Revolut, Trading 212, and Zopa.

We are systems builders, design thinkers, product crafters and committed doers. We work in a collaborative, transparent environment where people can be their true selves, embrace ownership and accountability, and build something that will define an industry.

Our mission is to change the way the world pays. We grew from a UK leader in 2020 to a global provider in 2021, operating in 12+ countries. The thing is, we're just getting started…

As a Product Manager you will focus on 3 key areas:

  • Investigate, build and improve bank integrations in new markets so they convert higher and fail less.
  • Discover new use-cases and work closely with country managers and platform teams to inform new product opportunities and ensure existing products meet customer needs in new markets.
  • Build relationships with your TrueLayer colleagues in marketing, commercial, customer support, legal & compliance, design and of course engineering to launch your solutions. We believe that it truly takes a team to build and launch world class solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Discover, test, validate and fail (at times) with your assumptions on how to improve our bank integrations and solve for our customer needs.
  • Build deep empathy and understanding of client and their end users needs. Be passionate about solving problems and identifying opportunities that exist in the world of payments.
  • Understand the competitive landscape in the country you’re launching and build an understanding of how people transfer funds and pay for goods and services today.
  • Develop a strategy and outline tactics for your team. Then track the outcome of your tactics to ensure your solution is adding value to clients and their end users in the way you intended.
  • Create a roadmap and manage the day to day work of your team. Be ruthless with your prioritisation and get buy-in from key stakeholders so your have a shared vision.
  • Communicate continuously with your wider stakeholders to ensure you have alignment whilst helping them market, support and sell your product to clients.

Requirements

  • Have product management experience in a Product-first, fast paced, high growth company.
  • Are familiar working with a digital product used by a technical user base - this could include APIs, SaaS, PaaS
  • Track record of finding valuable solutions to problems you've identified.
  • Some design chops, at minimum you should be able to create quick prototypes and interview customers objectively when partnering with your XD / design colleagues.
  • Have experience working with a product integrated with multiple endpoints - e.g., communications APIs, financial data APIs
  • Can act on data without relying on the complete picture to be built for them; prioritisation is your strength, and you have the ability to win consensus for your ideas amongst your stakeholders
  • Are customer-focused; everything you do, you do it to create a platform that our clients love to use
  • Would consider themselves a “people-person” - equally comfortable gathering user feedback, presenting your ideas to engineers or reporting your KPIs back to your product team - communication is key
  • Enjoy working in cross-functional people from all over the world. Our ambitions are global, and so is the exceptional team we’ve built
