  • Work with the CEO and Chairman of the Board to continually improve the governance and controls across the organization, as appropriate for the scale of the business
  • Understand regulation, legislation and industry developments and how they will impact the business
  • Support the CEO in the coordination of the fundraising process, ensuring timely completion of approvals, round capacity management, and access to documentation
  • Manage all central communications with investors, with the aim to increase engagement and maximize the value obtained from the company’s stakeholder network
  • Manage all payroll, work-related expenses and financial employee benefits
  • Provide an analytical and detailed approach to business reporting and analysis to provide key stakeholders with an interpretation and understanding of business performance; drive improvements to reporting, KPI tracking and develop forecasting models (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow)
  • Work in partnership with senior management to improve efficiencies and reduce company burn
  • Learn, advise and implement on government support programs in the UK and Canada, for example R&D claim preparations
  • Manage all aspects of financial reporting, preparation of month-end accounts, tax returns, completion of bank and balance sheet reconciliations in partnership with our part-time CFO
  • Develop best practice HR standards across documentation, performance and personal development
  • Act as the first point of contact for all HR-related issues and work with other members of the leadership team to ensure these are resolved in a sensitive and appropriate manner
  • Drive recruitment activity across the organization, supporting hiring managers to develop requirements, oversee candidates throughout the process, and act as the main point of contact for suppliers
  • Work to develop new strategies to ensure Concured is securing the best possible talent
  • Work with senior management to lead legal terms for new contracts
  • Review all supplier contracts, ensuring terms are fair for the long-term benefit of Concured
  • Ensure the organization is GDPR compliant, and act as first point of contact for personal data breaches
  • Develop and implement the organization’s hardware and IT support strategy
  • Oversee the management of office locations in London and Montreal, ensuring employees have the facilities they require to be productive in their roles
  • Ensure that company systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth
  • Identify areas that require improvement and implement necessary changes to support business development and efficient working practices
  • Support the coordination of activities across the business and highlight where systemic blockers have occured

Requirements

  • Ability to analyse and make recommendations, able to deal with new concepts with a high degree of complexity and handle high volumes of data and multiple stakeholders
  • Commercial acumen, ideally with startup experience
  • Commercially astute, articulate, technically strong and insightful individual with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels in pursuit of business growth and success
  • With strong IT skills, a continuous drive to identify areas for standardisation, simplification or improvement to business process, procedures and systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to persuade and influence
  • Committed, enthusiastic and able to use initiative to drive the business forward and drive through key business changes
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
