Job Description

About us

Cronofy is a high growth, global software company with hundreds of loyal SaaS customers, the majority of whom are in the US and the remainder in EMEA and APAC. Our customers love us and range from market leaders like GoDaddy, Houzz to the smallest tech start-ups. Backed by Seedcamp, we have had 7 years of consistent growth and are now profitable. Our mission is to Schedule Everything For Everyone. Our success to date has been driven by providing the underlying technology powering scheduling in SaaS applications. We're now working with enterprises directly, helping them address scheduling challenges at business function level in recruiting, support and service as well as organization wide. We have offices in Amsterdam, London and Nottingham.

The role

As the Sales Team Lead you will be working with the CEO to lead the sales function at Cronofy. It is expected that this would be in a player/coach capacity. Acting as a role-model to the rest of the team and developing the sales processes with the support of the CEO, you will be directly influencing how we deliver a first-rate experience for prospects and customers interacting with Cronofy. This role has a huge opportunity for accelerated career progression. Sales team success will quickly grow into the chance to take on full responsibility for the team. This is an ideal role if you're a successful SaaS sales professional who wants to transition into management. You will be able to take advantage of the support of an external sales leadership coach to assist both you and provide support to the team. Our sales approach is consultative. We have unparalleled experience in the requirements of scheduling and we're happy to share. Often we're helping our prospects to raise their expectations of what is possible. The sales team should be responsive, supportive and knowledgable guides for the evaluation process and maintain the commercial relationship as they become a customer. You will be working closely with the marketing team to generate leads through paid marketing, targeted campaigns and your own prospecting. We have a rich content program specifically focused on sharing our expertise in scheduling. Whilst the marketing team will be supporting the sales team with inbound leads sourced through a range of activities. The team will be expected to also generate their own prospects through outreach. The Cronofy approach to outreach is not high-volume and transactional; instead we see it as another touchpoint in the relationship between a prospect at the company. We seek to enlighten, educate and learn from all of our interactions to ensure we're providing value. Progress will be tracked by sales metrics and personal targets set against monthly recurring revenues. You will be expected to deliver timely status reports and generate short and medium, term action plans to deliver KPIs and achieve targets. Cronofy is a global business and sales activity will need to be organised around US and European time zones. This flexibility is two-way. We don't clock-watch. Instead we strive to ensure the team find the right work-life balance for them to deliver the results they need to be successful.

How we work

Our principles guide how we approach everyday. We work hard but insist that everyone considers the balance between this alongside their life and responsibilities outside of work. We are direct in our dealings with each other. We continuously work to build mutual trust so that we can give each other feedback without fear of it being taking personally. We can support a predominantly remote, office based or a hybrid working model. We do really value face to face time and encourage teams to spend regular time together at our Nottingham, London or Amsterdam offices or other suitable locations.

About you

First and foremost you will be a role-model for the sales team. You will approach sales as a collaboration with prospects and customers to ensure that both us and them gain value out of a working relationship. Whilst delivering sales is critical to success, we do not resort to an aggressive, transactional approach in order to hit short term targets. We know you will be confident, personally and professionally competitive, and motivated to continue that success. We will also be looking for…

  • strong listening skills;
  • appreciation for details;
  • persistence and a drive for simplicity;
  • an ability to maintain focus and work independently;
  • a collaborative ethic, success is a whole company effort;
  • honesty and candour in your interactions with colleagues, clients and prospects;
  • a sense of fun, we’re most definitely here to work hard but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t enjoy a laugh

Your capabilities

It is likely that you are looking for your first step into sales leadership after a successful period selling SaaS products in a target driven environment. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of sales processes, qualification methodologies and the craft of sales. You will be comfortable having evidenced-based discussions about the pros and cons of different approaches. Cronofy has many technical aspects to its service. Whilst many of our customers are non-technical, having a decent understanding of Internet API technologies and how SaaS applications are built will help you be successful in this role. Clear and focused written and verbal communication is crucial to being successful both at Cronofy as well as in this role specifically. We deal with customers around the world through email, calls and video conferencing. If you are multi-lingual, especially fluent in French or German, you will naturally be at an advantage when selling into Cronofy’s international markets however this is not an essential requirement for the role.
