About the role

We’re looking for a Mobile App Developer with 4+ years experience in hybrid cross-platform mobile app development with excellent understanding of the mobile app ecosystem. You will be a key member of our growing Engineering team.

We’ve grown 1000% over the past 18 months and we’re aiming to 3x that again over the next 12 months. Are you ready to be a part of that?

The day-to-day

  • You will get acquainted and eventually be fully comfortable navigating the full codebase, the technology stack, the development processes and org structure within the company
  • Take ownership of the user story implementation, collaborating with the team’s PM, Designer and QA to define tech specifications, documentation and clear communication on development progress updates.
  • You will work on large pieces of the shared codebase and improve them as needs dictate (product, stability, functionality) while also proactively highlighting and fixing bugs/tech debt. You will be proud of the code and the product!
  • Fully participate and contribute to all the team activities and processes: daily syncs, weekly planning sessions, product backlog grooming and bi-weekly retrospectives. You are starting to add to and influence the team’s culture.

About you

  • 2+ years experience with React native or Flutter, ability to work on hybrid and native components
  • 1-2 years of experience on web development using React JS, Redux
  • 1+ year of experience with native app development on ios or android
  • Strong understanding of deployment lifecycle for both Android and Ios (build, deploy to app store and playstore, certificate management, etc)
  • Strong understanding of agile development practices, testing(unit and integration) and tools of the trade (git, jira, etc. )
  • Ability and willingness to work independently with learning new technologies around native Android and iOS development
  • Fluent in english

Since mid-March 2020 our UK-based team has largely been working from home. We have a small, COVID-secure office in the City of London which has limited capacity for hot desking on an as-needed basis when working from home is not possible. This could be due to a variety of reasons, such as mental health, poor connectivity or an insufficient work environment. While we don’t have a full return to office date, we are monitoring the situation closely and hope to be able to return to the office more fully at some point during 2021.

If you’re an early riser, come in as early as you like or if you need to do the morning school run, come in a bit later. At the end of the day, the work needs to be done but we also need you to balance that with life. We hope we can enable you to do both.

We have recently introduced a flexible benefits system with access to a monthly or annual budget in the following areas: £600 annual learning and development budget; £80 wellbeing and lifestyle allowance. These are accessed through your own personal wallet and can be spent on services and products of your choosing, within a set of guidelines.
