Job Description

About Unmind

Unmind is a workplace mental health platform. We empower employees to live more fulfilling and balanced lives by changing the way organisations around the world think about mental health. We believe that everyone has the right to a healthy mind – because we all have mental health, all of the time – and we’re striving to create a world where mental health is universally understood, nurtured, and celebrated.

In the past 12 months, Unmind has grown from a 30 person team to a fast-growing, 150 person global organisation with offices in London, Sydney, and New York. With the recent announcement of our Series B funding, we're looking forward to our next stage of growth which will enable us to deliver on our mission to improve the mental wellbeing of ten million people in organisations around the world.

We have ambitious plans to change the perception of mental health and we still need help in achieving them– which is why we’re looking for an exceptional individual to join as a Senior People Partner.

Uniting Behind Uniqueness

We are committed to building an inclusive workplace and encourage everyone to bring their whole selves to work. However you identify, and whatever background you bring with you, we welcome you to apply for a role at Unmind.

If there are any adjustments that would help improve your experience with Unmind, please do let us know when you apply.

We also believe our interview process should be inclusive and transparent. Find out what to expect and more about our commitment to diversity on our candidate FAQs page here. As always, if there is anything missing, or you've identified a way we can improve, just let us know!

The Role – Senior People Partner

We are looking for our first Senior People Partner who will initially guide and empower our People managers across our global teams and help us build a People partnering model at Unmind.

As Unmind continues to scale, we will evolve how we partner with the business by aligning to specific segments (multiple departments) that will enable us to provide tailored people solutions.

Reporting to our Head of People, you will help us to develop, implement, and improve our people practices (whilst retaining our core culture and values) that will be absolutely paramount to Unmind’s continued success.

As a Senior People Partner, you’ll be responsible for coaching your key stakeholders on best practices across the entire employee experience (including performance, growth, employee relations, diversity, culture, engagement and wellbeing). You'll act as a credible advisor and trusted voice that will guide your stakeholders through the challenges and opportunities that scaling a business provides.

You will be a pivotal part of Unmind’s continued growth plans – partnering with our leaders across the business and helping us continually grow, learn, and evolve as a People and Talent team, and as an organisation, as we deliver on our mission to improve the mental wellbeing of ten million people in organisations around the world.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Partner with our People managers, empowering them to help build happy, healthy and fulfilled teams
  • Advise on best practice across the entire employee experience and support the launch of cyclical people processes
  • Devise, develop, and deliver People initiatives that enable us to scale successfully. This includes everything from onboarding to engagement, recruitment to performance reviews, D&I to L&D, recognition to off-boarding, and everything in between
  • Nurture our inclusive culture and ensure Unminders have everything needed to thrive - mentally, physically, financially, and socially
  • Evaluate and analyse our People data and feedback in order to derive regular insights and clear solutions that will enable us to continually improve the People experience at Unmind
  • Translate business goals into tailored people strategies that enable the departments you partner with to scale and develop

Skills and Experience

We firmly believe that no one is the finished article and that there should be learning in every role you do. However, some experience in the following is important for the role.

We're looking for people who have:

  • Demonstrable experience as a People Partner in a high-growth environment where you have driven change and operated as a credible advisor across the entire people experience (including engagement, growth, performance, L&D, Employee relations, talent management, D&I).
  • CIPD Level 5 diploma in People Management or equivalent strong generalist background
  • Successful record of developing teams, nurturing talent, and creating a culture where everyone can thrive
  • Extensive knowledge of employment law and its real-life application
  • Phenomenal communication skills –both verbal and written– with confidence to make clear, articulate recommendations (and challenges) about People processes and policies
  • Comfortable thriving in autonomy in an environment of rapid growth, constant change, and lots of unknowns.
  • A learning mindset, you actively look for opportunities to grow
