As an Operations Manager, you’ll be working closely with other members of the team to both own and support a range of operational initiatives around the business, from significant business-as-usual improvements to wider change management initiatives. You'll need to enjoy working with a diverse and changing set of internal operational requirements in a rapidly growing and evolving business.

You'll be able to get into the detail on our systems to understand both the functional and commercial implications of changes, as well as ensuring we're using the tools we have in the most effective way.

You can also think at a more strategic level about our users and stakeholders and ensure we're connecting our planning with their needs and actively working with the business to identify and mitigate organisational risk.

You’ll act as the subject matter expert and authority on some core areas of BAU: for this role, we're looking for someone familiar with risk management, information security, and deep immersion in the configuration of internal systems and/or a background in IT or managing IT suppliers.

Requirements

  • Manage our ISO27001, 9001 and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications; working with the Ops team to embed InfoSec best practices into day to day operations around the business (inc. policies; ceremonies; training and issue management)
  • Manage all aspects of our IT estate though our IT partners, identifying and implementing improvements to meet the hardware, process and system configuration needs of a rapidly scaling organisation Help manage our SaaS stack.
  • Work with other stakeholders inc. the people team and markets to manage infrastructure and processes for security, visitors and commercials across our offices.
  • Proactively engage with other areas of the business to support onboarding of suppliers inc. due diligence and compliance.
  • Working as part of the team to provide ongoing iteration and functionality deployment for Kimble (our commercial delivery management platform). Kimble helps us manage our end to end value delivery for clients, from proposals through to invoicing and is driving business-critical improvements in process and data across the business.
  • Involvement in a range of other operational priorities: as Made Tech rapidly grows, our Operations Team is involved in a number of projects to professionalise and mature the business - from data reporting and adoption to change management; information security and IT strategy; and a range of other incoming priorities. There’ll be opportunities to get involved in a range of workstreams; from planning to execution as we grow.

In the application process the following skills will be assessed

  • Experience in an operational role (ideally in a professional services environment)
  • Experience managing information security and risk (ideally in a professional services environment. Experience with ISO27001 and/or CE+ is preferred but not required)
  • Experience with IT estate management
  • Good commercial awareness and experience with supplier relationship management
  • Ability to engage with strategic business priorities and demands
  • Experience executing mid-level change across a number of different user needs in multiple stakeholder groups
  • Very good written and oral communication skills, and able to present detailed information at the appropriate level for the audience
  • Comfortable with analysing and manipulating data and able to engage with both granular detail and business priorities
  • Able to engage with complex systems quickly
  • Pragmatic, outcome focussed approach to delivery and problems solving
  • A positive, can-do and problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to work at pace to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working under general direction within a clear framework of accountability and can exercise substantial personal responsibility and autonomy.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a cross functional team.
