Job Description
As we approach the next phase of our growth as an organization, we are looking for a dynamic and conscientious Finance Manager to join our rapidly scaling team. As you’ll be the first permanent person in this position, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to help shape the Finance function from scratch and determine how it interacts with the rest of the company.
What you’ll be doing
- Core support for all financial accounting, reporting and strategic planning
- Work closely with our Operations team to put in place scalable processes, systems, and communications
- Together with our outsourced partners, complete all the day-to-day tasks required for running the business
- Assist our CFO in our financial planning process and support all fundraising activities
- Maintain global financial controls, manage risk, and assist the setting policy
- Ensure the organisation is benefitting from all relevant start-up financing and COVID-19 support available for business
- Coordinate Finance-related suppliers and systems
- Support Operations in the management of payroll, expenses and pensions
- Optimize our currency use to minimise costs
Requirements
- Finance Manager or equivalent in a successful company with international operations, specifically UK and Canada would be a bonus
- Ideally have experience raising start-up finance
- Be both hands-on with both balance sheet and commercial accounting, while maintaining sight of the big picture
- The ability to identify (and implement) the key metrics which underpin a world-class SaaS model scale-up company
- Well-presented with outstanding communication skills
- Technically astute and accomplished, and capable of identifying and operating the most advanced global financial and accounting systems
- Experience in start-up or early-stage company or a background operating in an entrepreneurial environment including involvement in strategic direction preferred
- A passion for effective (but pragmatic) cost management

- Salary in the range of £35,000 to £50,000 per year, depending on experience, plus share option package
