NPI Project Manager
Are you a Project Manager from an Aerospace Manufacturing background, looking for an exciting role in which you will developing the very latest Project Management systems, and shape the New Product Introduction (NPI) function for a cutting edge CNC Manufacturing company with a vision of making an autonomous factory?

The role would suit a Project Manager from an Aerospace NPI & Account management background, looking to build your own system for process improvement, helping us to achieve our goal of creating the perfect manufacturing solution as a global company.
You will be given all the necessary support and resources to enable you to perform your role to the highest standard
Please note this position will require travel to customer sites and occasionally to our London office.

What's it like to work together?
We're an ambitious company, building a fast paced factory to give our customers the best experience, so this means our production teams are onsite in our Chelmsford factory. We operate a continuous improvement environment whereby we reflect on what we're doing and why and challenge our previous ideas and experiences within manufacturing. The CloudNC Manufacturing Team
The manufacturing team at CloudNC are masters of our machines. Many of our team have Formula 1, aerospace, automotive a medical background or a mix of several industries.
They're broad in experience and responsibilities, meaning they can produce estimates, run machines and provide machine strategies to support our customers and business needs. This means they have full accountability of a part's journey from quoting to the finished component. Often you'll see them working together to reduce cycle times and optimise manufacturing processes to make parts that delight our customers.
They advise on design for manufacture to support our customers with critical projects. They enjoy collaborating with our software engineers to support our development and progression of our world-first software for autonomous machines. This includes advancement in fixture and tooling techniques.
The team are flexible and they've embraced the fast-moving, changing nature of being part of a start-up. Never losing sight of our mission, the team have taken on the challenge to support CloudNC in building it's first fully autonomous factory.
What you'll be doing...
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you will develop and implement the NPI (New product and or process Introduction) processes, and as the NPI Project Manager you will be the focal point for the business on NPI and Project Management. You will lead the NPI function and work closely with the Commercial, Quality, Manufacturing Production and Tech teams to support the business needs.
Full involvement from initial customer enquiry through estimating to DFM (Design for manufacture) To drive design assurance, supplier Quality, Cost of poor Quality and Zero defects to ensure customer satisfaction.
Using process capability to negotiate quality standards with customers to ensure that manufacturing are given the widest possible process window.
To ensure that the requirements of all quality standards and accreditation’s are understood and communicated throughout the Company.
The implementation and promotion of a continuous improvement culture throughout the business.
Working closely with the technology team to develop automated processes wherever practically possible.
Responsible for root cause, corrective and preventive actions for all non conforming components and processes, building strong working relationships with suppliers and customers as required.

Previous Project Management experience with exposure to NPI within the Aerospace Manufacturing industry - essential
New Product Introduction experience - From customer enquiry to factory industrialisation is highly desirable
NPI process development & improvement experience using CI techniques would be advantageous
Experience of creating and influencing cross functional teams is essential
Good working knowledge of component design and Engineering DFM (Design for Manufacture) practices would be highly desirable
A recognised Project management qualification is essential (PRINCE 2 or similar)
A HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering preferred.
Good Google suit skills (Mail, sheets, docs & slides in particular) are important for reporting
Ability to write concise and effective process flows is essential.
The ability to read and understand complex 3D models, engineering drawings and Customer Specifications
A strong understanding of the dynamics of the Business, teams, functional departments and their interrelationships.
Excellent customer service orientation with experience of acting as the company point of contact with customers.
Excellent interpersonal communication and prioritisation skills
