We are going through an exciting period of growth and are looking for an IT Manager with experience of running a security focused IT function in a medium sized organisation.

Job Outline:

We are hiring an IS and Security Manager with experience of running a security focused IT function in a medium sized organisation. We’re going through an exciting growth period enabling great businesses to succeed through equity crowdfunding, and as the IS and Security Manager at Crowdcube, you have the opportunity to make that an efficient experience for colleagues, entrepreneurs and investors alike.

This role can be remote, but there will be a requirement to visit one of our offices most weeks.

What you will be doing:

Our aim as a company is to continue building our product and expand our share of the equity fundraising market. In IT, we’re ensuring that the security and operational elements of the IT estate are at a world-class standard. This means you will supervise the implementation and maintenance of the company’s Information Systems whilst looking at ways to continuously improve them.

Day to day you will:

  • Manage Information Systems and suppliers.
  • Ensure the company's data and systems are adequately secured through all layers of the digital estate and user base.
  • Document our ISMS, and implement it across the organisation.
  • Work with auditors to check the robustness of our ISMS and action any audit findings
  • Develop disaster recovery plans for equipment, power, or security failure to preserve technology and data.
  • Project management of operational technology improvements.
  • Coordinate IT support and training
  • Maintain the Information Systems budget for the organisation 
  • Stay up-to-date regarding new IT equipment, software, and solutions.

Ideally you will have:

  • Proven working experience as an IT Manager in a medium sized organisation
  • Experience of implementing or working with a documented ISMS
  • Good documentation skills that can be applied to writing IS controls for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure AD and Google WorkSpace.

And you are:

  • An excellent communicator, who actively listens and shows empathy, with an ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Open-minded and comfortable questioning the status quo, coming up with new solutions and considerate of others'

Our interview process typically consists of an initial phone screen, an interview with the hiring manager and a task, followed by a final interview with other members of the team. There aren't any trick questions and the task will typically be based on a real scenario the team have worked on.
