Our mission is to remove the pain from payments. Our vision is to create a step change in how payments are made by small business - to make money move faster through the whole supply chain.

Comma is an open banking bulk payment system. It handles the boring but important stuff - bills, salaries, and taxes. We get to market through bookkeepers and accountants by enabling payment services. This helps small and micro businesses who don't have access to corporate banking.

We've just raised a high profile seed round and we are experiencing the challenges and excitement of a growing team. We have a lot of demand for what we are providing and are inundated with product requirements and feedback from our engaging customer base.

The role:

You will be given the chance to get involved across our three Engineering squads which are populated with arguably some of the best Engineers around, hailing from all sorts of backgrounds such as Skyscanner and Tray.io.

You'll be a voice in every conversion, from tech selection to approach, moving the needle on the Comma app and Pay with Comma service towards its true potential, while turning untapped greenfield concepts into a reality. The current product base is written in React, React Native, Typescript, Node, hosted on AWS Lambda but we're always looking forward.

To keep up with demand of the product growth we're looking to scale out Engineering by upwards of 50+ Engineers as we look to internationalise the offering in the coming year, meaning there's ample opportunity to have impact as a Product Visionary, People Leader, Technical Pioneer or somewhere in between.

Looking at your day, you will have active involvement in the design and development of all applications, utilising Codat for syncing account software, Yapily to funnel payments to supported banks, managing open banking integrations and API’s, building out end points to return data correctly.

Who you are

We don't get bogged down with the tech specifics, you're fundamentally a great Software Engineer with a passion for your trade.

We're a JavaScript house, so if you have exposure to React and Node, amazing!

Knowledge and experience with the latest JavaScript Features and an awareness of NoSQL databases would be a great plus. It's not essential but if you know your TypeScript, AWS and Cloud Formation all the better!
