Job Description

Infogrid is helping protect the planet and improve the lives of billions of people by making every building a smart building.

Our goal is to be the global provider for connected devices in smart buildings. We already handle millions of events every day from tens of thousands of sensors and we’d like you to help us scale that by an order of magnitude over the coming months.

Sustainability is at our heart; buildings account for 39% of global carbon emissions and we’re creating real solutions to impact this!

We are still early in our journey but have already achieved a lot; we raised a successful series A funding round, grew 5x in employee numbers within 12 months, and voted one of the top 10 most flexible places to work.

Want to know more about how we'd building Infogrid? Our CTO wrote a blog post about this.

Using data science we are developing a platform to allow building owners and managers decrease their costs and environmental impact. Through both direct sensor readings and machine learning-based outputs we collect previously unknown or unmeasurable information to offer a holistic picture of buildings and their use.

As a result we can offer insights, recommended actions, and predictions to aid planning in a real-time fashion. We innovate at the edge of what can be done in the new era of IoT, and data science is central to the company’s goal of offering ever-more useful insights to our clients.

We maintain strong software development practices at all times and, above all, a mindset focused on deployment. It is through this culture the data science team ensures its effectiveness and ability to quickly deliver value to our clients.

In this way the data science team remains central to all stages of product development from innovation, development and testing, deployment, iteration and ongoing maintenance. We seek those with a strong focus on product development and driving customer value alongside robust software development best practice, mathematical and machine learning focus, management of machine learning deployment, and a growth mindset.

For This Role We Look For:

  • A strong academic background grounded in mathematics and statistics, or equivalent work experience.
  • A fluent level in Python.
  • A self-directing attitude and a growth mindset.
  • Experience innovating new machine-learning products for real-time event-driven applications is desired.
  • A keen interest in product development and awareness of commercial factors.
  • Experience deploying machine learning models in production environments is required.
