Who are CloudNC?

CNC machines are responsible for producing more than $120BN worth of metal components every year, serving every manufacturing vertical from motorsport parts in Formula 1 to satellites in space. Despite this, the software used to control these CNC machines are stuck in the dark ages. It can require hours (sometimes days) of manual instruction by a skilled programmer before a component can be produced.

Enter CloudNC! Located in London & Chelmsford, we're pioneers in revolutionising the manufacturing industry. Combining technology and manufacturing; we’re building the world’s most intelligent factory, powered by ground-breaking technology.

What's it like to work together?

We're an ambitious company, building a fast-paced factory to give our customers the best experience, so this means our production teams are onsite in our Chelmsford factory. We operate a continuous improvement environment whereby we reflect on what we're doing and why and challenge our previous ideas and experiences within manufacturing. We're a progressive team in our factory who help one another and recognise other teams that unblock us and/or support the other to move fast and maintain excellent quality for our customers. Our software engineers are often onsite to collaborate and understand your experiences, requirements, challenges and specialist knowledge.

We have 80+ people, so we're still learning and building different things from the ground up organisationally, technically and operationally. However, we're experienced enough to have structures and robust processes to support greater efficiency, collaboration and success! There is always opportunity to shape the company with your thoughts and feedback whether it's through our All Hands questions/polls, 'Ask Me Anything' time, Peakon platform, open door time, focus groups or our inclusion and diversity network. Our onboarding scores are 9+/10 and you'll have a dedicated buddy to connect and share your experiences together, and the People Team are fully dedicated to ensure you're able to hit the ground running.

Our Values

We discussed what motivates teams, what great leadership looks like, and why someone would join us, in an inclusion and diversity workshop with many of our teams. We also discussed our culture at length as a leadership team. We decided our values should be simple but effective at representing what it's like at CloudNC, what gets you recognised and enables you to succeed.

The CloudNC Manufacturing team

CloudNC is searching for experienced CNC Operators, manufacturing apprentices, or early career hires to be a part of supporting our mission to build the factory of the future for our customers. You will be given the opportunity to work with a highly skilled team of individuals on the latest machining technologies, in an environment that has been built around continuous improvement and open communication.

Successful candidates are natural self-starters who may have prior engineering experience in a production environment. You may have a solid understanding of factory operating procedures and best practices.

You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative environment. CloudNC's culture encourages innovation and expects operators to take ownership and pride in their work to deliver great products to our customers.

What you'll be doing...

You will carry out deburring and hand finishing work to a high standard on our machined metallic component parts.  You will be familiar with using hand tools such as a scrapers, files, wet and dry papers, oil stones, scotchbrite, hand reamers, hand taps, microscopes, hand-held power tools or cutters to deburr and finish machined component parts according to engineering drawings.  Other tools and relevant experience applicable to this position would include linishing, polishing, pillar drill usage and other forms of metallic finishing.

You’ll be checking your work throughout the finishing process, so you’ll need to be familiar with using standard measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometres and depth gauges with minimal supervision.  Included in this role is the opportunity to assist with CNC machine operation as and when required, all relevant training will be provided.

You will have a good attention to detail to comply to quality standards and customer specifications, by setting gauges and utilising manual measuring instruments appropriately. We'll need you to perform preventative and regular maintenance on machines, equipment and tools used in all processes. We will require you to isolate and potentially quarantine any piece that may not conform to customer specification and report accordingly. At times you may also support dispatch with packaging components.

As with all of our teams, you'll work together to ensure good housekeeping and maintain a safe environment.

We're a match if...

You have previous experience in deburring or hand finishing of CNC machined metallic component parts within a precision engineering environment.  You'll have excellent attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously but also as part of a team. You are a strong communicator and responsive to change. You are flexible to our continuous improvement style. You are highly organised and can work at pace.

What you'll receive...

We're nothing without our teams, as such you'll receive
