The Role – Senior Software Engineer
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Foundations Collective. Your team will be taking ownership of the Content Services of the Unmind Platform, initially focusing on empowering our world-class content team to publish and manage the platform autonomously and building internationalisation and localisation capabilities.
At Unmind we have a mix of full-stack and backend focused Engineers. We believe that for this role it is essential to have a more backend-focused skillset, with a strong understanding of internationalisation and localisation.
We’re scaling quickly, which means that the focus and responsibilities of any position can be quite dynamic – but here’s how we initially see your skills and passion coming to life at Unmind:
Build - You will be responsible for designing- and building solutions with your team, initially focusing on adding multilingual capabilities to facilitate our global expansion. Your team will also be working to empower the Content team to autonomously publish and manage platform content.
Own - You will be involved from ideation to deployment and beyond as we build key features of our platform and product. You will take the architectural lead for some of the components and services your team owns, and guide your team in finding the right balance between technical excellence and delivery of value that brings you closer to your North Star.
Drive - As a Senior member of the Engineering team, you will be responsible for contributing to technical discussions and will be involved in decision making to ensure that Unmind is always using the most appropriate technologies and tools for the job
Collaborate -You will work within a cross-functional team, consisting of Product Managers, Designers, Engineering Lead and Full-Stack and Backend focussed Engineers to help solve complex challenges within the content and translations domain at Unmind.
Mentor - As a Senior Engineer within the team you will be responsible for mentoring more junior members of the team as they navigate their careers with Unmind. You will also drive quality and engineering best-practise within the team
Skills and Experience
- Design & build platform services
- Node.js, ES2015, Typescript
- AWS, Cloud-based application development, Infrastructure-as-code
- A focus on continuous iteration and outcomes
- Passionate about mental health, tech-for-good, and generally improving people’s lives
- Comfortable working in an environment of rapid growth, constant change, and lots of unknowns
