The Enterprise Architect role at Comma has both client-facing professional services and internal Comma capability building responsibilities; the purpose of the role is to successfully deliver MDM, Data Management and Integration-related components of projects through face to face or remote-based advisory and consultancy activities along with contributing to the design and growth of a solution development capability within Comma.

Roles, Responsibilities and Experience:

The Enterprise Architect role at Comma has both client-facing professional services and internal Comma capability building responsibilities; the purpose of the role is to successfully deliver MDM, Data Management and Integration-related components of projects through face to face or remote-based advisory and consultancy activities along with contributing to the design and growth of a solution development capability within Comma.

In order to be successful, you will apply your knowledge and experience to support the delivery of projects, build valuable relationships with clients, and develop strong capabilities through formal training and working with colleagues across different functions.

You will also apply your technical experience to grow the maturity of Comma’s internal solution development function, implement best practices in relation to software development and design and support delivery at scale to a growing number of Comma clients and/or internal initiatives.
The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for the design and development of extensions to ‘out of the box’ Data Management products, including, but not limited to Master Data Management, Product Information Management, Metadata Management and Data Quality Management solutions.

You will provide best practice advice to clients with regard to solution architecture and integration and will also work with clients to understand the requirements and business context of any requested technical solutions to ensure that the best possible result is delivered.

Comma work with a number of software platforms in the MDM and PIM space and the majority of client configurations will require an element of extension to these platforms that are bespoke to the client. Developing such extensions will typically require skills in C#, Java and/or Javascript, as well as more general skills in software design, delivery and solution architecture.

In addition to client-facing work, the Enterprise Architect may from time to time be required to work on the architecture, design and delivery of elements of Comma’s internal systems landscape as well as projects directed by Comma’s Research and Development function.

Responsibilities:

Perform advisory, consultancy and delivery activities for Comma clients in areas including, but not limited to:

Work with clients to build a holistic view of the strategy, processes, information and information technology assets for their organisation.

Advise clients on best practices for the implementation of master data management projects

Design the Architecture of client MDM and Data solutions (including extensions to ‘vanilla’ products) and provide business, governance and technical recommendations

Influence client technology direction at the divisional or enterprise level based on broad expertise across multiple software platforms and technologies

Take ownership of overall design of client MDM and Data Management solutions

Leading conceptual and detailed design workshop/whiteboard sessions for MDM and Data Management solutions

Participate in configuration, building and testing of MDM solutions

Deliver functional and technical design documentation describing the MDM solution

Provide estimates to the project manager for design & build effort of MDM solutions

Liaise with software vendors to ensure design decisions are in accordance with their best practices

Map elements of the proposed solution design to business goals and objectives defined by the client

Knowledge transfer to client

Progress reporting to PM in line with project specific guidelines

Lead specialist teams consisting of Comma and client resources and be accountable for delivery of project components under the direction of Comma or client Project Management

Take ownership of the development and maintenance of specific Comma accelerators, methodologies, case studies and/or other collateral in areas directed by the Capability Leadership Team

Support presales activity, including (but not limited to) the preparation of responses to RFP/RFIs by providing specific information relating to the areas highlighted in (1)

Define and design solution development and quality assurance processes/services and execute these in order to provide quality assurance and review of design artefacts produced by other Comma projects

Contribute to the preparation of training targeted towards Comma & client staff in the areas highlighted in (1-5) as appropriate

Keep abreast of latest developments and trends in the areas highlighted in (1), including attendance of industry events, meetings and webinars/seminars as appropriate

Lead the development of Comma’s MDM Enterprise Architecture capability with new toolsets and technologies

We are looking for an Enterprise Specialist who:

Experience working collaboratively in Project and/or Software development teams

Must have development experience, with C# and/or Java.

Proficient in source code management and application deployment best practices (familiarity with platforms such as GitHub, BitBucket or similar)

Experience working in Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as VisualStudio.net, Eclipse or similar

Must have experience of working in a Data-Driven environment, ideally with experience of designing and implementing multiple solutions associated to Product, Customer or Location data.

Would be beneficial to have experience working with MDM and other Data technologies examples include Tibco EBX, Semarchy XDM, Stibo STEP, Talend Open Studio, Alteryx, Collibra)

Must have experience of working on solutions in complex IT landscapes and Integration between platforms.

Must have a grounding in data architecture to assist in the evaluation and creation of scalable data models.

Experience working with the major Cloud Computing platforms, in particular Microsoft Azure, is desirable

Data Management expertise across a range of industries and use cases is expected

Self-starter with the ability to adapt to the client’s needs.

Able to lead client workshops if required.
