About the role...

The Head of Treasury Operations is responsible for running the treasury and control functions for our operational accounts, ensuring that our funds are flowing in the most efficient way possible and that all of our accounts are reconciled in accordance with regulatory requirements. The Head of Treasury plays an active role in the design and delivery of flows of funds in line with 

1) business strategy 

2) regulatory and 

3) financial requirements

The Details

Directly accountable for:

  • Resourcing and leadership of team of 5-10 FTE across London, Amsterdam and Singapore

  • Definition of the Treasury function’s strategy to meet overall business goal

  • Ensuring our flow of funds is both efficient and compliant

  • Optimising and scaling the Treasury and Control function across the globe

  • Ensuring new project deliverables meet required quality standards before go-live

  • Being on the front foot of any industry wide treasury changes e.g. shift into using camt. files as a standard

  • Key stakeholder responsibilities on client money regulation controls, projects, reporting and audits

Support & enable:

  • Design and delivery of product improvements and network expansion projects

  • Seamless flow of information/communication with the rest of the company

  • Design and delivery of projects initiated by/within the Treasury function

  • The Treasury and Control team where required

Take part in:

  • General management activity (e.g. quarterly management meetings, Friday all hands, project, prioritization, reporting, etc.)

  • Budget setting and headcount planning

  • Evaluation of new client opportunities

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • 5 years + experience in banking/treasury within a Financial Institution or Financial Technology company

  • Strong analytical/technical skill set driven by a data mindset

  • Self starter with demonstrable track record in taking initiatives from idea to fully scaled up operating product

  • Highly intelligent – can quickly grasp complex issues

  • Adaptable to change at a high pace

  • Outstanding organisation and planning skills – able to handle multitude of concurrent tasks in systematic way while also planning forward

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Effective communicator & collaborator

  • General technical understanding/ability to work with technical people

  • Bias to action – gets things done

  • Sound judgement – able to make balanced data-driven decisions under pressure

  • Ability to understand regulatory requirements and turn them into procedures

  • Control mindset – can identify processes and measures required to identify operational issues
