Job Description

About us

We started Goodlord because we wanted to make renting simple and transparent for everyone involved: the agent, landlord and tenant. We knew generation rent would lead to more tenants, with higher digital expectations and we were confident we could provide a solution.

And we did. Like all startups it’s been a bit of a roller coaster journey, but we’re now stronger than ever, with over 650 happy customers and exciting new products. We have ambitious plans for 2020 but with Mr William Reeve at the helm alongside co-founder Tom Mundy and a brilliant team of over 100 talented Goodlordians we are confident we’ll achieve these.

Our values guide our decisions, the way we work, our culture and the people we ask to join the team. We work hard, have fun and support each other. We’re not afraid to make mistakes (we’d never learn if we didn’t) and we’re always looking to challenge ourselves. Our style is collaboration based on honesty, friendship and respect.

It’s an exciting time here at Goodlord. If you’re inspired by what we’re doing and share our values, we’d love to hear from you.

About the role

Goodlord’s mission is to provide the best renting experience in the world and we’re on the hunt for a Letting Project Manager to help us achieve this.

We are looking for an experienced lettings professional to lead the development of a brand new offering to our customers.

Initially this will be a Beta rollout with a view to launch as a new product line to our national customer base.

Since this is a new role, not only will you be responsible for the overall scoping of the proposition but you will need to be hands on to deliver. We are looking for someone that can take an idea and run with it and someone that isn't phased by challenge or ambiguity.

Please note that for the time being we are a remote first business and therefore you will be working remotely, however this role will be primarily office based in the future.

The day to day stuff:

No two days are ever the same at Goodlord so what you’ll be up to will vary. The pace we move at also means priorities will change and you’ll need to be comfortable with this (we’ll support you!). But these are the things that will be core to your role and will keep you busy.

  • Scoping out, positioning and building our future lettings proposition from scratch
  • Working with our current and future customers to ensure we build a product that solves real problems
  • Reviewing, understanding and applying the ever changing legislation to this new product
  • Working closely with Customer Success, Operations teams and Finance teams
  • Building a deep understanding of the Goodlord platform
  • Launching the proposition once we have beta/stress tested

Requirements

About you:

You should apply if:

  • You have Significant commercial experience in the lettings industry (administration, negotiation or property management, preferably Propertymark Level 3+
  • You have a deep understanding of the rent collection process including client accounting regulation and best practices
  • You have exceptional knowledge of all aspects of the lettings journey from a process perspective. Including but not limited to GSC, EPC and EICR requirements, statutory notices, tenancy agreements, rent collection and much more. If you know you’ll know.
  • Experience requesting, collecting, chasing and reconciling rent payments.
  • You will enjoy building customer relationships and helping support their business.
  • You have a passion for improving the lettings process and making renting easier for Agents, Landlords and Tenants alike.
  • You’re curious and confident - perhaps you have an entrepreneurial flair and have reached a ceiling in your current position?
  • you’re super organised and have proven your ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
  • change doesn’t faze you; you take the rough with the smooth and take people with you on that journey
  • you get on with everyone and anyone and adapt your style to communicate most effectively with them
  • you are full of ideas, are not shy about expressing them and get excited about executing them
  • you have a positive attitude, and work well under pressure
  • what we’re doing here at Goodlord excites you!
