Job Description

JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

An insurance claim is the defining moment for our service; it is the moment when we deliver on our promise. At AGCS we are committed to deliver superior claims experience to our customers: before, during and after a loss.

Reporting to the Liability Claims Team Leader you will be delivering effective and efficient Claims Handling support. Your responsibilities will include creating and maintaining peer level relationships with brokers, collaborating with other functions to ensure accurate claims administration and complete general claims administration tasks as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will take on the following tasks:

  • Handle standard and complex claims on Liability policies: employer liability, public and products liability
  • Input and maintain accurate claims records (e.g. reserves, payments) for designated accounts
  • Process standard indemnity and expense payments
  • Prepare case for settlement of claims through payment or denial
  • Produce management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements)
  • Prepare referral documentation and materials as appropriate
  • Report loss information internally and externally
  • Work with other functional areas in the Claims handling process, such as Underwriting and Operations, as well as with colleagues in our offices abroad
  • Maintain the Claims Portal and administer claims via this system


KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • 3 to 6 years’ professional experience in dealing with liability claims
  • Preferably a degree in Law, or other appropriate discipline
  • Ideally you have a professional insurance qualification, or are working towards it
  • At ease in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience using a Claims Portal
  • Good understanding of legal and regulatory framework
  • Understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures, litigation management and avoidance techniques
  • Knowledge of reserving principles and practices; robust understanding of coinsurance and reinsurance and application
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize and work to deadlines
  • Positive team spirit and excellent relational skills
